Information about integration

Coordination Centre for Migration and Participation - your point of contact

All people should feel integrated into society

Integration - i.e. becoming an integral part of a country’s society – can take time. As far as possible, all people should feel at home in our country. No matter where they came from. Immigrants should also enjoy the same opportunities and possibilities as we do. There are many organisations, self-help groups and clubs which offer help in this regard. Immigration from other countries impacts on all areas of our society.

Since September 2014, the Coordination Centre for Migration and Participation has been established in Heidekreis with the aim of facilitating even greater integration into our society. This is funded by the Lower Saxony Ministry for Social Affairs, Health and Equality (Niedersächsisches Ministerium für Soziales, Gesundheit und Gleichstellung). This government body lends its support to the institutions, self-help groups, volunteers and networks that are committed to helping those immigrants arriving in the country, while also ensuring that the available information and forms of assistance are improved and developed.
